Ingredients
Chicken Filling
- 1 kg chicken breast, diced or cut into thin strips
- 2 large onions, sliced
- 3–4 tbsp gyros seasoning, or to taste
- 1–2 tbsp vegetable oil
Wraps
- 6 large flour tortillas
- 250–300 ml European-style creamy cocktail sauce (similar to a blend of mayonnaise and ketchup)
- A little oil for brushing the tortillas before baking
Salad
- 1 head of lettuce
- 1 long cucumber
- 3 tomatoes
- Your favorite salad dressing
Instructions
Cook the Filling
Cut the chicken into small cubes or thin strips.
Slice the onions.
Heat the oil in a large frying pan and cook the onions until softened.
Add the chicken and gyros seasoning.
Cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and all the liquid has evaporated.
Prepare the Tortillas
Warm the tortillas in the microwave in batches of 3, covered with a damp paper towel, for about 30 seconds. Warming only a few at a time keeps them soft and flexible, making them much easier to fold without tearing.
Spread a thin layer of the creamy cocktail sauce over each tortilla.
Divide the chicken filling evenly between the tortillas (about 160–170 g per wrap).
Fold each tortilla like a burrito or envelope.
Bake
Place the wraps seam-side down on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Lightly brush the tops with oil.
Bake at 200°C (390°F) for 15–20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

Reheating
For the crispiest results, reheat the wraps in the oven or air fryer.

Recipe Tips
- Warming the tortillas before filling them helps prevent cracking.
- Heating them in small batches keeps them soft while you assemble each wrap.
- Don’t overfill the wraps, or they may open while baking.
- Serve extra sauce on the side to keep the tortillas crispy.
- You can also add diced red bell pepper or sweet corn to the filling for extra flavor and color.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make these ahead of time?
Yes! Assemble the wraps, refrigerate them, and bake just before serving.
Can I freeze them?
Yes. Wrap each tortilla individually and freeze for up to 3 months.
Can I use a different seasoning?
Absolutely. Taco seasoning, fajita seasoning, or your favorite chicken seasoning all work well.
Why should I serve the sauce on the side?
Adding too much sauce inside the tortilla can make it soft instead of crispy.
